How many of you out there would say that you want to purchase a new Nokia phone, considering how many other phones there are from different manufacturers such as BlackBerry, Android and iOS devices? For the handful of those who are looking forward to holding the Nokia E6 in your hands, we act as heralds of good news – Amazon has now listed the Nokia E6 as an unlocked handset, where it will retail for $446 while offering hardware specifications such as a QWERTY hardware keyboard, an 8-megapixel camera with 720p video recording capability, GPS navigation support and a rather small (by today’s standards) 2.46″ touchscreen display.

Apart from that, the handset will also come with 8GB of internal memory which can be further expanded thanks to a microSD memory card slot. Navigation is available via the free Ovi Maps Navigation with voice-guided directions, while Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity round off the list of features.

Expect the handset to ship in one or two months’ time though, so hang tough in there!

Audi Q1 And Q4 SUVs Under Consideration


With the debut in 2005 of the behemoth Q7, followed more recently by the smaller Q5 and the upcoming entry-level Q3, Audi's SUV range continues to grow.

Now, reports out of Europe this week suggest that Audi, spurred by strong sales for the Q5 and Q7, is moving to introduce even more options in its high-riding line-up.
At the smaller end of the scale, and perhaps least surprising, is a report by Automobile Magazine that the successful A1 'entry-level luxury' hatch will be developed into a new variant.

Three options for the new A1-based model are reportedly under consideration, including a high-riding version of the five-door A1 Sportback Concept revealed in 2008.
Other potential A1 developments could include an all-new compact crossover built on a version of the company's modular 'MQB' platform, and a Q1-badged model based instead on the reported A2.

Audi is also believed to be investigating options for a Q5 (and Porsche Cajun) based sports-styled SUV, inspired by the likes of the ultra-sporty three-door Range Rover Evoque.

On the topic of more performance-focused styling, reports claim that Audi is considering a BMW X6-rivalling Q6, with a similar swooping roofline and high-riding coupe-like dimensions.


The earliest any of these potential new Audis is expected to is sometime around 2016: more than enough time for these attention-grabbing overseas reports to be forgotten.

Samsung to push Smart and 3D TVs

Samsung Electronics has unveiled its plans to grow the Smart television market in India by offering solutions on its 3D TV and Home Theatre packages for consumers.

As part of the promotional offers, a customer buying a Samsung Home Theatre System (HT-D330, HT-D350, HT-D450, HT-D453, HT-D550, HT-D555 and HT-D5550) along with a Samsung 32" and above Flat Panel TV can save up to Rs. 11,000 on the Home Theatre system.

Additionally, the purchase of a Samsung 3D LED TV (D6000 and above) or 3D PDP TV (D490 and above) would qualify the consumer for a Rs 10,000 discount on 3D pack that comprises a 3D BD Player with an HDMI Cable, two Battery operated 3D Glasses, five Blu-ray and one 3D movie title (Spiderman 1&3, Angels & Demons, 2012, Ghost Rider and Megamind). Both consumer promotions are valid till 31 August 2011.


With these promotions, Samsung aims to push consumers to upgrade to its Smart and 3D Televisions. Based on the new launches and offers, the consumer electronics company is looking at creating the market for both 3D TVs and Smart Televisions in India

India's $35 tablet launching this month

After hitting the roadblock for over six months, the Indian government backed ambitious low-cost tablet project is finally set to take off.

According to latest media reports, the low-cost $35 tablet codenamed 'Sakshat' is expected to launch by the end of this month.

The country's answer to the $100 laptops developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology will be powered by Linux OS and is made by HCL Technologies.

As for the specs, the 7-inch touchscreen tablet will come with inbuilt keyboard, video conferencing facility, multimedia content, Wi-Fi, USB port, 32GB hard drive and 2GB RAM. The tablet will support Open Office, SciLab and Internet browsing.

According to reports, government has decided that 10,000 Sakshat tablets will be delivered to IIT Rajasthan in late June. Also, over the next four months more than 90,000 tablet units will be ready for launch and will come at a price of Rs 2,200.

Reports claim that the government later plans to further subsidise the cost by 50 per cent which means the device may cost somewhere around Rs 1,100.

50% new Internet subscribers from tier-II towns



LUCKNOW: Internet usage is increasing rapidly in non-metro cities , so much so that more than 50% of the new subscribers are from these tier-II towns.

Senior Director, Yahoo India, Nitin Mathur said that the trend in internet usage is changing fast with metros which dominated the scene just a year back giving way to the non metro towns now.

He said that currently there are an estimated 8 crore net users of which would increase to 24 crore by 2015.

"Internet penetration is very low in India right now as compared to other nations. It would surely touch 24 crore by 2015 and given the size of India's population this too would not be enough. But we see more and more people using internet through mobile devices rather than PC's. Even right now of the 8 crore internet users more than 2.5 crore access it through mobile devices. As 3G enabled handsets become cheap mobile internet would be the next big thing in the country which would take penetration to the remote corners of the country" said Nitin Mathur.

He said that Yahoo India currently reaches 81.7% on internet population in India.

He said that they are working towards introducing email services in regional Indian languages. Currently lots of regional language content is available on Yahoo and they would take it forward by introducing email services in local languages too.

The company has started a "Learn with Yahoo" program which educates and trains new users on various aspects of internet including email, search, and internet safety etc.
